I love nothing more on a cold winter’s evening than snugglling up on my sofa with a steaming cup of hot chocolate in one hand and a good book in the other. It is even better when the book is my form of a cosy comfort – a seasonal chick-lit, a book filled with recipes (not necessarily a cookery book) or good epic fantasy to get my teeth into.
For me, a cosy comfort read is an event, something I look forward to at the end of the day – I have a cosy comfort checklist to make sure I am fully prepared for the event:
Cosy comfort checklist
- Toddler in bed and sleeping peacefully
- Husband entertained watching football/rugby/any sport that is on TV
- Hot chocolate poured
- Sofa clear of all toys
- Cosy comfort book chosen and ready to go.
Let the reading begin.
To give you some ideas of what could be your comfy read, here are some of mine:
Milly Johnson – A Winter Flame – seasonal chick-lit at it’s best
Jenny Colgan – Christmas at the Cupcake Café – seasonal chick-lit and a book filled with recipes. A double hitter.
Laini Taylor – Days of Blood and Starlight – second part in a brilliant fantasy trilogy.
